Time for another edition of “What the hell has Dari been doing?” 😛
Finally, all of the UV mapping is done. Whew! Such a pain. But with that done, i can move on to the texturing. Texturing is going to be quite a bit of work as well, as there’s 4 distinct sets of textures I’ll have to create. The familiar Leather set, in dark and light, a Canvas set, and of course, the much asked for Latex set (i hope, i hope). Of course every journey begins with one step. So I’ve started off with the familiar leather as I have some pre-existing texture work I can draw from. I’ve got just about all of the leather straps done, and all of the metalwork, including the zipper.
So feast your eyes on what I have so far. I think it’s starting to show potential. The black areas are areas yet to be textured:
The metal for the square reinforcements needs some help still, its early work. But overall it’s starting to shape up. I have also located some good canvas reference textures, and may start jumping around between parts of the 4 various sets as i feel like working on.
For those keeping score, after al this texture work is done, I still have to Weight paint and rig the model, finish my animations, finish some ‘special’ features, then script it all. So I don’t know, maybe we’re at the halfway point? A lot of work to be sure. 🙂 Stay tuned as always.
