Okay! well, Been a busy week, so let’s get to it!
I’ve been mentioning about the top of this boot for a while now. Thankfully I can now show you what I mean. I decided the best approach was to give the built-in Cloth Simulator in Blender to help me realistically create the folded fabric I wanted at the split near the top. So after a lot of fiddling and trials, I came up with something that satisfied me, and satisfied me a lot!
I am really pleased how that came out. After simulating it into position, I created the ‘inside’ and the result is something like this:
With that done, I was able to work on making sure boot and Avatar meld well at the seam where they will meet, and I think it should be pretty darn flawless. So then it was back to the laces…
And after a lot of struggles and missteps and redoing, I can only say, I’m still not quite there yet… I’m finding it real challenge to get the look I want, and yet not go overboard with polygons and make something really laggy. And I just refuse to make laggy things. So I have a few more ideas about how to approach this, but every attempt basically = tearing everything down I’ve done and rebuilding. So it’s not fast work.
The Tangle as it stands now:
But don’t fret, I will prevail.
I should also note I’m also working on an update to the straitjacket to address some issues and suggestions which have been brought to my attention since last update. No ETA on when it will be ready, but I am putting some measure of my time in that direction too. When I know more, you’ll you know more. 🙂
